The Return of a Diva ... Lisa Brissett the name might not sound too familiar to most but for those who follow the Canadian urban music scene her name and accomplishments is one not to forget. Hailing from Toronto Canada this east end Scarborough native has had her share of bumps threw the road. Having fulfilled a lot of accomplishments as one third member of the now dismantled Toronto famed Pop group Caramel City. Lisa is now set to make a come back but this time with the proper formula and a new mind frame.Her musical career started at a young age participating and performing in numerous talent shows. Lisa’s influences are great legends such as Anita Baker, En Vogue, Whitney Houston and Mary J Blige. As part of Caramel City Lisa and crew went on to do shows for Z103.5, Phem Phat, Wild 101.5, Rivoli, Flow 93.5 and Mic Check “The Mic is On” series, the girls went on to do even more. That having been said the release of their debut single “I Can't” produced by Justin Gray of Pop Stars fame garnished high rotation on Toronto's hottest Urban Station FLOW 93.5. With “I Can’t” topping number 2 on Flow’s All Request Charts, Lisa’s success didn’t stop there she was introduced to an up and coming producer at the time name Wil Orellana who was starting a production company called ReflecLife Entertainment. Wil encouraged Lisa to record a solo track with him titled “Love Is Real”, the song went on to be a success it also made it on to Flow’s top request songs chart at the same time as “I Can’t”. With two singles on commercial radio she had to make a decision Caramel City or solo artist? Remaining loyal to her girls Lisa continued her career with Caramel City. This in 2006 prompted the group to release the CD Caramel City – No Fixed Address.After the 2006 release Lisa realized that Caramel City was not the exact place for her she felt it was time to take on the world by herself like she had always intended. Making a call to her old friend Wil Orellana she asked if he would help her rebuild and prepare for her comeback. Gone are the days of Pop music for Lisa and here comes the side which no one has ever witnessed, a much more edgier and raw Lisa Brissett. With the team at iWill Creative Directions Lisa is determined to prove that not all things have to have a bad ending and that once again she will be at the top of the list. Her comeback is anticipated by many but none so more then Lisa herself let see what her music will bring this time around for 2007.
