Suzanne Sherwin

About Me

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Suzanne Sherwin took her first steps on the floor of a hotel room, while traveling with her parents' lounge band. Growing up amid a flourishing L.A. club scene, Suzanne started her first band, Gun Shy, while still in her teens. Shortly after that she became a part of the bay-area-based country group, California Zephyr, with whom she continued to perform for many years. As a songwriter, Suzanne has been a winner - and subsequent judge - of the prestigious New Folk Award at the Kerrville Folk Festival. In addition to singing backgrounds on a Johnny Cash album ("The Mystery of Life,") Suzanne also provided the voice for Trixie, the animatronic bear in the Country Bear Jamboree attraction at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. She has written and performed many times with acclaimed singer-songwriter-guitarist Michael Johnson, and is featured on two duets on Johnson's "Live At The Bluebird" album. (The Sherwin/Johnson collaboration "Life After You," was also featured in an issue of Fingerstyle Guitar magazine.) Suzanne's repetoire ranges from traditional country to tasteful renditions of classic '40's jazz, with much ground in-between.
