Carole Leigh is described as a sultry, soulful rock chanteuse (with more than a hint of jazz for flavor). Born and raised in New York she possesses a unique sound that is characterized in the bluesy quality of her “velvet†voice. She busts open the boundaries past her freckled face, channeling the power and spirit of divas past and present. Her musical influences range from jazz to rock to folk to broadway and back again. The divas of her present Alanis Morrisette, Diana Krall and Amy Winehouse...All packed with a Joplin-esque punch.As the former lead singer of the pop band Modesty Blaze she toured the local NY music scene playing in such impressive spots as Arlene’s Grocery, CB’s Gallery and The Bitter End. ?After a brief hiatus honing her chops as a songwriter (and selling a few screenplays in La La Wood), Carole has returned to New York as a solo artist.
