About Me

AUSMUSIC SA is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing education, training and advice for those who want to get into the music industry. AUSMUSIC SA runs a comprehensive SA industry website, runs music workshops in schools, gives free music workshops in disadvantaged schools, provides an advisory service for SA Artists and practitioners, runs industry development activities including events and seminars, runs music business courses and training as well as providing performance opportunities for young artists.
The musicsa.com.au web-site provides an opportunity for young people, artists, and the broader community to gain experience and skills in new technologies, music industry promotion and activities, while linking with the music community. The website has grown significantly over the last 18 months to become a ‘one stop shop’ for local artists with over 40,000 individual visits per month and the majority of local artists listed.
AUSMUSIC SA is in regular contact with SA’s 130 secondary schools providing literature and updates of programs. Aumsusic SA is directly involved in servicing a minimum of 35 secondary schools per year through weekly music workshops and performance opportunities, providing music experiences for over 500 young people in SA.
Ausmusic SA’s industry development activities are co-ordinated by the Industry Development Officer, a role established in March 2007. The Industry Development Officer is responsible for skills development and business development for the South Australian contemporary music industry.
