Nazfiratu is a heavy metal band from Battle Ground, Washington. Formed in the spring of 2006 by vocalist Dustin “Kyrdt Deameon” Gemmell and guitarist Sean Thompson, they quickly picked up drummer Andru Wilmoth, and bassist Aaron Gemmell. By the end of the summer, they also found rhythm guitarist Mikle Forgey. They played their first live show in January of 2007, performing in a battle of the bands at the Roseland Theater in Portland, Oregon. They have played a plethora of shows since, mostly at the Satyricon in Portland, and Nazfiratu’s Den in Battle Ground, and are in a constant search for more. The band has made a couple of line-up changes since formation. The first of these being the departure of Mikle Forgey, leading to long-time friend of the band Dave Cain to stand in until Mikle decided to rejoin the group. His return was short lived, as life once again got in the way, so they went through two other guitarists, Max Nelson, and Blake Beyers, until asking Dave to take on a more permanent role. Also, Bassist Aaron Gemmell was replaced by Jon “Johan Bathory” Huston shortly after the first show. Finally, Vocalist Kyrdt Deameon was replaced by Shawn “Snigg” Kalakian for a short while due to musical differences with the band, though Kyrdt has since returned. Andru Wilmoth has also been replaced due to personality differances within the band, although he too has reconciled and rejoined the ranks.
