I'm matt, if you and I haven't met yet I'm totally glad to meet new people if we are best friends, good friends, old friends I am glad it's that way. If you want to know "about me" it's probably best if you just ask, I can't answer every question you could ever ask here and even if I could I change so much from day to day. Very little of what I say here will be true in a year, or a month, maybe even a week. That being said, I will try my best to let you in on some of the more constant things in my life. My name is Matthew Roland Cale, I am from Red Oak, Texas I still live here, but I don't want to. If I could be somewhere else right now it would probably be Austin. However, I do like my life here, I have a good many friends and very few worries. I am currently attending Cedar Valley Community College. I am asking all credit hours online so you may never see me there. Online Government is a lot tougher than it should be... It's absurdly hard. My plan is to be the smartest person ever... If you have any questions about how I am going to do this go ahead and ask.
Music: If I have one truly amiable vice it is certainly music, I live to here a good song. I also like to find new bands, local bands, underground bands if you know of somebody cool or if you play in a band yourself I will be glad to give them a listen. I am also a great download resource, having downloaded **** songs for free I know exactly where to go to get anything {WITHOUT USING TORRENTS}. the songs on my page are some of my personal favorites a new one should play every time you come to my page. On the set list you will here songs from The Weepies, mewithoutYou, Lisa Hannigan, Joe Purdy, Gabe Dixon, Sufjan Stevens, Man Man, Manchester Orchestra, Joshua James, Louis Armstrong, Woodpigeon and many more. Any song that you like I can give you the name of the song, the band that performs it and a link from which to download it.
Television/Movies: My schedule, has in most cases prevented me from watching any television show on a week to week; however, I am currently in the process of buying all of my favorites in boxed seasons. So far I have Arrested Development Seasons 1-3, Scrubs 1, 2 & 7 and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia seasons 1 & 2. I can't go to deep into movies either, I am very lazy in watching any movie more than once, still I should tell you what I enjoy to eliminate un-needed questioning. My favorite movie of all time would have to be A Man for All Seasons followed closely by Fight Club I also really enjoyed The Game, Running Man, Band of Brothers (HBO), The Lord of the Rings, Hard Candy, You've Got Mail, The Godfather & Pineapple Express.

Religion:I'm a conservative universalist christian, because that is where logic has lead me so far, it's a very different point of view I know, please don't try and assault it before reasoning through yourself and trying to find where I am right or wrong. I am always in the mood to talk about things of this magnitude, the questions and topics that come up in conversations over "theological" ideologies shape every action we take. That being said, I will not accept bible verses (and verses alone) as a real argument. I do this for two reasons, first of which is that you believe things that aren't explicitly stated in the biblical text as well. Secondly interpretation of only the verses has justified more cruelty than you or I can imagine, simply put anyone can read anything they want to read into it, just try and reason your way to the truth before blindly stabbing at where my beliefs may or may not be "wrong". I occasionally write essays on religion as a part of my worship and evangelical responsibilities. I will post them in a blog or here on my page feel free to discuss them.
Heroes: If I had to pick a living person, I would definitely say Derek Wilson. No person humbles my work ethic more than him and no one keeps me spiritually/morally challenged like him. I am truly very honored to know and be friends with a person of his caliber. I really can't express how much of my current "goodness" should be in his credit and for that his name belongs here. To pick a hero in history, it will come as no surprise that C.S. Lewis is the name most highly regarded in my own mind. I haven't ever read something with his name on it and not come away thinking about how intelligent he is. He is the person who I would most like to be compared to and if you ever feel like being my best friend you can say I remind you of him.
Friends: Maggie is my best friend... Like very much my best friend. It's not really a competition. She is an unbeatable friend I love her a lot. I can truly think of no better woman (mom excluded) I am a lucky man indeed to call her "close to me". Some of the people closest to me are Derek Wilson, Dakota Smith, Branden Scott, Ali Bibi, Collin Mitchell, Tiffany Averitte and others who I'll add later. Don't feel forgotten these are the first people to jump in my mind. I love all of my friends dearly...
Confessions: This is a list of things that I hide because... I am a child... I write them for you to see because I don't want to mis-lead you with fancy talk and humor... And because i truly, deeply, emphatically don't care a bit about you thinking me to be great man. I am not a great man. I am weak. I pray less than I lie. I keep the most important things from the people who need to hear them most. I am the definition of un-pure. I battle with my self on a daily basis to even believe that G-d exists. I care more about how I look than how you feel. I hate how lazy I am. I hate my aloof behaviour towards loving people. I talk about G-d more like an analyst than some body who really trusts, loves, needs, worships Him. I do not say sorry often enough. I pretend to care to get you to like me. I am evil. I forget that I can't save myself. I hide behind wit and it deters most people.
Books: Right now... Only textbooks, it's cool to feel like you know so much of a subject; however, it is not a pleasant process. Whenever I can I read hard theology. I really like anything written by Orson Scott Card. As I mentioned in my "heroes" section everything written by C.S. Lewis changes my life, The Great Divorce is my exact view of the after-life. If I needed to give someone a list of the 10 books they would be along these lines. Till We Have Faces, Enders Game, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Great Divorce, Voyage of The Dawn Treader, Much Ado About Nothing, Abolition of Man, Lord of the Flies, Through the Looking Glass, Mere Christianity.
The Time I Tried To Write A Love Poem:
then i would ask you one more time
are you sleepy?
wanna sleep with me?
no, not sexually
just let you be
in the morning flee
or stay and eat with me
tea or coffee?
later that day
if you chose to stay
take a drive far away
talk about the way
i can love you any way
any way at all?
if your hands were small
like a baby doll
if you had to crawl
on hand and knees in the mall
or abnormally tall
legs too long to kick a ball
or allergic to leaves in fall
sneeze so hard that you fall
when the night come
ill drive and drum
while you sing and hum
till your lips get numb
or i feel super dumb
then i would ask you one more time
are you sleepy?
wanna sleep with me?
Mat Cale
if i wrote you a poem it would rhyme...
"Like water on the dry wood equal parts mis-guided, mis-understood... All the neighborhood watched the fire burn from where they stood and smoke screamed 'we aren't half as bad as G-d is good.'"
"Like a man in a body of water so tall, it swallow your hope make you forget where your going, but i carved a map in the back of my arm. So don't worry I'm comin' home."
