About Me

Lead Guitarist and Vocalist with the aptly named Slapheadz.......and thats it at the moment, my other bands all seem to be folding up (RIP Madslappers and easy Cure), so I..m looking for some other projects ! . I also occasionally make a nuisance of myself at acoustic open mic sessions, and am actively looking for opportunities to get my songs used/published/promoted, having had much in the way of industry interest, but no worthwhile deals offered so far....Having grown up in a house surrounded by siblings with cool taste in music, by my late teens I was out there playing in bands, and find that I..ve been lucky enough to hit my forties with as much passion and enthusiasm for music as ever, constantly meeting great people because of it, and always up for new opportunities to make big noises!Outside of music my other lifelong passion is motorcycles, earning a living at the moment as a motorcycle instructor. Other interests are running ,swimming, travel and when i get time photography(see Andrew Hyldon at www.flickr.com). Personal stuff , Im a Christian who doesnt get to church very often, Ive been very happily married to Sheree for nearly 10 years now, and we now have a beautiful baby daughter Georgia.O.K, as for the demos , No Fool Like You, Too Hard to Find and Colours were recorded between 2002 and 2004 with the band Kerb, Something New is a hybrid Live / Portastudio recording with The Slapheadz from 2007, and Turn Away , Always and Beyond the Storm are from loads of rough Portastudio demos Ive recorded at home over the last few years. Someday is a bit of fun with an old Kerb song of mine, Sweet and Pick That Box! are instrumentals, the latter a spur of the moment thing, so excuse the hiccups !!

My Interests

Music:

Influences: Early influences were70s hard rock bands like Thin Lizzy, then went back to bluesy stuff such as Free and Rory Gallagher .I then got hooked on U2 in their early days, as well as The Police and others, and also became a huge admirer of the tragically underated Stuart Adamson of Big Country. As time went on my tastes got broader and more eclectic, and recently I`ve been listening to everyone from P j Harvey to Rush to Midnight Oil to John Maher to the Foo Fighters, when i`m not creating some racket of my own.The footage below was shot by Prakash- go to his site from my friends, he`s got some incredible stuff- and is one cool gent !
Sounds Like: Recorded by Prakash Acharya on the 12th AUG 2007 at Six Bells, Chiddingly. PART SANCTUARY SHADOWPLAY
Record Label: Unsigned
