In the vein of “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enoughâ€, L.O.T.U.R is a series of monologues that chronicles the lives of young African-American urbanites (inner-city dwellers) that are rebelling against various facets of mainstream society. Grounded in the reality of life’s highs & lows, and not bound by the proverbial “happy endingâ€, L.O.T.U.R. provides a realistic framework of post-modern narratives that have yet to have been given a voice in the Hollywood of today. On a deeper level, L.O.T.U.R. is about exposing the fallacies that get embraced under the mainstream perception of “Urban†life and the young people who live it. Contrary to the images that we are typically fed, Urban Rebels are just as brilliant, kooky, unexpected, conniving, funny, dastardly, colorful, and dynamic as their counterparts.Written and Directed by Kongit Farrell for One Power Productions (www.MissKongitFarrell.com), in collaboration with Mia Farrell (Paramount Studios), Thomas Cost, The 2 Roads Theater, and Dallas Jackson (Urban Entertainemt). L.O.T.U.R IS A NON-UNION PRODUCTION.
