About Me

Nicolas Quijano was born on November 10, 1981 in Bismarck, the capitol city of North Dakota. At 11 years old, Nick joined his first band, Drevlow’s Disciples. With this band, Nick recorded two albums, gained his first gigging experience, improved his guitar playing, and began learning to play other instruments like the drums and bass guitar.
By the summer of 2002, Nick had formed his own group, 13 Dead, which regularly drew standing-room only crowds. That summer of 2002, Nick moved 13 Dead to Minneapolis, Minnesota, searching for the next level of success.
In 2003, Nick joined the up-and-coming Minneapolis powerhouse, Rivkit. Always looking to surround himself with the best and hardest-working musicians possible, Nick disbanded 13 Dead in order to focus on Rivkit full-time. Quickly winning the band’s respect and trust, Nick wrote, produced, and designed album art for Rivkit’s full length CD Words of Mass Deception. By 2005, the band was regularly performing alongside national acts like Dry Kill Logic, Bloodsimple, American Head Charge, and Rikets.
In 2004, for his reputation as a hard worker and talented guitarist, Nick earned an endorsement deal with the guitar cabinet manufacturer Basson Sound Equipment.
In January 2006, as a result of nick’s constant networking, Rivkit obtained management through Patrick Whalen and Fast Paced Management, which handles acts such as American Head Charge and Five Finger Death Punch. When American Head Charge started looking for a new guitarist in mid-2006, Whalen was quick to suggest Nick. On September 30, 2006, Nick and American Headcharge debuted together at the Delicious Rox Festival along with Fear Factory, Five Finger Death Punch, Motogrator, Rikets, Drive Theory, Drowning Pool, and Saliva.
American Head Charge went on to tour the Midwest and then to cross the Atlantic and play a well-received tour of England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales: the European Occupation Tour. American Headcharge headlined this tour with direct support from Panic Cell and Twin Method. Nick was immediately adopted by fans and made a lot of great friends and important music industry contacts on the journey.
Currently, Nick is appearing in a Basson Sound Equipment advertisement for NAMM music festival and other nationally published magazines. He is now writing and recording for his very own band. Nick is planning to release the new album and to rock the European tour circuit in late 2007. He is searching for the right musicians to fill various slots in the band.
