Live music, my circle of excellent friends, being in nature, living as lightly on the earth as I can, paying off my debt, making my apartment into a sanctuary, reading, learning what leisure actually feels like, travelling, meditation, and the zen arts of pilates and yoga... maybe kickboxing soon to come.
The creator of this universe; myself as a baby; any band member of all the bands I love, my great-grandparents; a pirate (tho I think I've met some modern-day ones); my soulmate; people who love to make other peoples' lives better. More later.... fine.
Anyone who knows me knows the first name on the list must always be Widespread Panic! I like a little of everything... Led Zepellin, Morphine, Jeff Buckley, Steely Dan, Alice in Chains, Fleetwood Mac, Ministry, Marilyn Manson, Rusted Root, Screaming Trees, Thievery Corporation, Hamsa Lila, Sisters of Mercy, Allman Bros, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Johnny Cash, Tosca, and lots of jazz and electronica (especially asian-electronica) jazz where I don't have a clue who the musicians are...
Yes, just not the ones full of violence and dread or horrible futures. I like happy endings. Rock Star, The Matrix, Almost Famous, The Craft, Monsters Inc., The Village, What The Bleep Do We Know....
Mostly when I have it on, its for background noise, tho lately I have been more into silence. I like the rockumentaries on VH1. I like PBS. I admit I am a big fan of Sex & the City and sometimes watch Celebrity Fit Club!
I rarely read fiction, tho I loved the Clan of the Cave Bear series and Anne Rice's Vampire series. I like biographies, autobiographies, self-growth stuff. Wayne Dyer's "The Power of Intention" on audio is one I HIGHLY recommend. I listen to that while road-tripping.
Anyone who perseveres and keeps the chin up even when it seems futile. And those who can actually see the positive side of that futility.
