Nicolas Bürki founded Nicoicmus in October 2006 by moving from Paris to Budapest and started to work with drummer Miklós Esterházy on his compositions. Pretty soon they’ve recorded a home-made demo, met flutist Bánki-Barát Réka and became a trio. In May they’ve recorded another demo at The Hungarian Radio. Since then they have participated in several festivals in the capital (Zene Ãœnnepe, Nyár a Lánchídon, Francia Utcabál, Fringe..) and having -mostly free- concerts at Pest’s famous underground places ( Sirály, Pótkulcs, Eckermann, Fészek, Nyitott Muhely..) The music has a lot of different influences from all the pop genres, but from jazz and classical music aswell. Playing with high intensitivity, poetical lyrics, Nicoicmus is a rare musical experience in the hungarian musical scene.
