I am Pamela Lillian Isley. You first learned of my existence in 1967 in Batman 181. I was born to vain and selfish well-to-do parents and raised in Seattle, Washington. In college, I discovered a passion for botany. I fell in love with my professor, Dr. Jason Woodrue (who later became Floronic Man), who convinced me to be part of his plant experiment. As a result of the deadly toxins introduced into my bloodstream fusing with every essence of my body I was turned into something beyond human. The experiment gave me not only the resistance to all poisons but also a poisonous touch. I assumed a new identity, Poison Ivy, and set up operation in Gotham City.
