Los Volcanes

About Me

This year, Los Volcanes were very fortunate and blessed with the opportunity to go to the Grammy Awards with Neil Diamond. After seeing Los Volcanes on television on a trip to Texas, Diamond gave the group the shot of a lifetime. A trip to Los Angeles to perform a rendition of Diamond's "Red Red Wine." The group received a standing ovation for their performance and it was a night they will never forget. The highly anticipated song is on their newest release "Un Dia Con Otro." Order your's today!TTMA award winning conjunto, Los Volcanes de Eddie Rodriguez continues producing electrifying music that shows why they are one of today’s enduring favorite groups. Hailing for the great Northwestern state of Washington, Los Volcanes, are led by bandleader Eddie Rodriguez, who was originally a native of Brownsville, Texas. Eddie named the band after the eruption of the infamous Mt. St. Helens volcano which Eddie felt explained his diverse and explosive different styles of music. However, the band is quick to point out their favorite style is the traditional Conjunto: the true ‘flavor’ of South Texas. Eddie Rodriguez plays the accordion with vigor and provides his smooth vocal style, backed up by David Olivares on bajo sexto, David Chaires on bass guitar, and Eddie’s son, Sean Rodriguez (winner of Tejano Music Awards percussionist of the year) on drums. Also introducing new member, vocalist, Sara Fonseca. While going through many changes in styles of music through the years, Los Volcanes have also explored and mastered many different types of music such as, Banda, Tropical, Norteño and Country music. Los Volcanes have done many shows in the Pacific Northwest including Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California. They continue to be one of the top Tejano/Conjunto acts in the Northwest.Los Volcanes was recognized in 2003 at the Tejano Music Awards when drummer/percussionist, Sean Rodriguez, took home the prestigious "Percussionist of the Year" award on his debut recording. They also received the "Single of the Year" award for the song "Llorando A Solas" at the 2005 South Texas Conjunto Awards. They hope success continues on future albums.
