South Carolina native Darlyne Cain is an international artist with songs born of experiences gained from traveling, living and performing throughout the world. On stage, she is best known for her smooth alto voice and impeccable musicianship on guitar and piano. She can play and write many different styles of music with ease and confidence.
Songwriting: Darlyne's music has found homes in several diverse places:"Backstage at Da Fonky B" debuted in New Orleans featuring the music of ten Darlyne Cain songs. The musical ran in New York City in an "Off Broadway" production. The Genie (writer and producer) is currently testing the London waters and Darlyne hopes to join her. She is writing a project of faith-based songs that can be used in congregational settings. The styles range from pop, melodic folk, disco, reggae to the straight-up gospel influence from her time playing at Liberty Christian Center in Kailua, Oahu.Darlyne's "Angels Appear" was performed by the AC Reynolds Junior High School Choir in Asheville, NC and also serves as one of her most requested inspirational songs in Unity services throughout the country.Recording Artist:
Darlyne Cain has released four CD’s. While three of her recordings were Nashville produced with a full enclave of great musicians, her latest, Nothin’ But Dar, features Cain stepping away from the band in a strong solo release.

With ten original songs, the album is a powerful showcase not only for her writing skills, but also her soulful singing and instrumental prowess. The album ends with a “must listen to” version of the Arthur Hamilton classic, “Cry Me A River”.

Performing:

Credits include Germany's famed Berlin Independence Day Festival, the Appalachian String Band Festival (WV), Nashville's Bluebird Cafe & NEA Extravaganza (TN), SXSW (Austin, TX), 2NMC (Darlyne was the "Critic's Pick" by the Nashville Rage magazine) the Flat Rock Music Festival (NC) and the Historic Third Ward Jazz Festival in Milwaukee.

"In a season that's being marked by unusual, diverse artists doing original, genre-stretching material, Darlyne Cain's new CD proves quite prophetic and welcome. The disc spotlights Cain's compositions, which range from probing to provocative and poignant to ironic, while also highlighting a strong, alternately elegant and energetic voice. "Ron Wynn, Nashville City Paper (TN)
