Thank you to all who donated. It's a good feeling to know that other's out there want to help as much as I do. I originally set out to help those in need, those with less than I had. Through a series of events, I felt I truly helped some people who really truly needed it, but with others I felt I was giving a "hand out" rather than a "hand up".
For this reason I am donating the remaining funds to an organization called "Room to Read". The man who founded this organization has an amazing story. He was a multi millionaire working for Microsoft and gave it all up to build libraries in poor countries. You can find his organization on Oprah Winfrey's website.

If you have a small bill (perhaps in the neighborhood of $100 or so) that would make or break your situation, tell me who you are and why you can't pay. I may be able to help out.
I have already paid electric bills in the winter, bought shoes for a single mother's children, and donated to the MS Walk, Breast Cancer Walk, and a few mission trips.
I don't have millions, not even close, but I have received good fortune and want to share it with others who aren't as lucky as I have been. I've also learned that sometimes it's the little things that can make the biggest difference in our day to day lives.
Also, if you would like to contribute to my cause, I accept donations via paypal. Please know that any donations have gone to and will continue going towards helping other people. Once enough donations are received, I will use some of the money to apply for 501c3 status so that your donations will then be tax-deductible.
Namaste.
Help me help others with your PAYPAL donation:

How it Started...
Someone asked me my background and how I got the idea to do what I am doing, so here it is:
It's almost rediculous how this started.
I watched an episode of "Oprah" where she gave $1000 to each audience member with the stipulation that they had to spend it on someone else. The results were so astounding I found myself wishing I had a lump of cash to give away.
A few months later, my fiance and I opened a joint checking account at his bank. I also opened my own personal account there with the intent of closing my old one. I transferred most of the funds from my old bank, but left a little bit there, for what I don't really know at this point.
Move forward two months, I realized I had $1700 dollars in my old account that I had "forgotten" about. There was my lump of cash to give away!
I started by paying electric bills of people in my city when the weather was below 20 degrees. Then I found "Belize Mission Trip" on MySpace, and started giving to other causes as well.
My plan is to give the money away to worthy causes until it runs out. I am also asking for donations so the money DOESN"T run out, and I can continue to give. I haven't received any yet, but I'll keep putting it out there.
There it is. That's my story.
