About Me
Dox, a Newark/East Orange, NJ native was born Jeff on June 26, 1981 at Beth Israel Hospital. As an inner-city youth growing up in the 80’s Dox was exposed to the harsh realities of life at an early age and was forced to grow up fast as a result. During a time period in which violence, crack, murder, and promiscuity were extremely prevalent in the urban community, Dox began developing a sense of purpose in a seemingly purposeless environment. His affinity for his “hood†turned into empathy the older and wiser he grew. Dox was also raised in a Christian household and constantly preached to by devout Christian parents who sought to instill a code of ethics and morals into his mental make-up. With the dynamics of: the effects of his surroundings on his psyche, a biblical upbringing, and his own interests and desires at play Jeff was molded into a Paradox, better known as Dox. Jeff assumed the name Paradox initially as a one word description of the polar opposite views and feelings that dwelled in his one personality. Those same polar opposites are the driving force behind a man who has studied to be a minister and sold drugs. The same hands Dox has prayed with, he has used to package narcotics with. On the surface of his music and personality one may see a contradictory God-fearing heathen, but those friends and fans that dig beyond find a tormented soul trying to construct a road map of words and sounds to sanity for those like him. Dox Diggla is where KRS-1 and Ludacris meet, where Jay-z and Common collide. He is the bridge between’ back-packers’ and ‘gun-busters’ and has the lyrical ability, originality, swagger, experiences, and vision to connect with every and anyone in between.
Dox has the streets and the internet going crazy with his mixtapes and features on several different projects. All the top producers are fighting to work with him for his ability to turn any beat into a hot song and Kay Slay along with Dj Tragedy has been playing his records on Hot 97 as well as NJ's Streetz 96.5 since the day they heard them. He prides himself on keeping his ears to the streets and resisting the urge to follow the trends, Dox would rather be setting them. Dox has worked with platinum plaque producers such as: Nick Wiz, Nitty, Needlz, Spencer 4 Hire (“Tried by 12â€East Flatbush Project), Heatmakerz, Charlamagne, Buckwild and J. Cardim (“Holla at a playa†Jae Millz). Dox is also featured on albums such as “Heatmakerz presents The Rush†currently in stores. The LP from The East Flatbush Project entitled “First Born†available on I Tunes. Perfect Strangers as well as Perfect Strangers II (PS II), both collaborative projects between Dox and fellow Jersey artist Stress, also available on I Tunes. Dox has also put out projects such as the self-entitled effort “DOXâ€, his first solo project and “Dox Landing†his latest. Dox has been sought out by countless dj’s to bless their mix tapes with his one of a kind flow, such as: Dj Envy, Dj Steel, Big Mike, Dj Tragedy, Dj Diggz, etc… Dox has also been interviewed and profiled by hip hop publications and websites such as: XXL Magazine, Hip Hop Game, Vibe, ALL Hip Hop and many others. Yes the boy has been on his grind.
Dox is the future of this culture called Hip Hop that the world has grown to appreciate, fear, love and misunderstand. Dox has enough knowledge of how the game works to give the people what they want without stepping outside of himself. He is genuine article, the new thing, that next star… Now Mister or Miss Executive, it is your turn to do your job… LISTEN!
