I love spending time with those I love and with those who challenge me (often one in the same)... I love deep conversation over a nice glass of wine... I love to take care of the people who mean the most to me- I want them to be happy, always! I love to cook, particularly for those who enjoy and appreciate it... I love to do those 'little things' that make people smile... I love a hot bath with candles lit and nice music playing... I love to enjoy the simple things that make life worth living...
For a long time, the answer to that question would have been "someone amazing to share my life with" but no longer... I've met a man that makes me happier than I think I've ever been... He's better to me than I really know how to deal with... I've never met anyone like him and am so incredibly happy to have him in my life...
pretty much anything... my taste is very eclectic... from ACDC to Allison Krauss to oldies... Trust me, you should see my MP3 player- it's kind of scary! :o)
anything but slasher flicks... you will NEVER see me renting a Jason or Freddie flick- EVER! Some gore isn't bad just so long as there's actually a PLOT!!!
don't watch much, but if I do, it's something that's over in an hour or something I'll learn something from... I don't have time to get hooked to a show that I HAVE to watch every week or I don't know what's going on... I like the CSI's, the Law & Order's, that kinda stuff... and I'm a HUGE fan of any cooking shows... I LOVE to cook, so I'm always ready to learn a new recipe!!!
celestine prophacy & other books by james redfield, mystery novels, anything that makes me think... cookbooks (again, always ready to learn how to make something new!)
This is going to sound super corny, but my parents! They've been together since my mom was 15 and daddy was 21- that'll be 30 years this year (27 married!). They taught me the value of LOVE and how important it is to always try to make it work, even if it isn't easy (and most the time it isn't). They taught me that relationships take work, and no matter what Disney and Mother Goose may tell us, there is no 'happily ever after' or 'prince charming'... it's never that easy, but most importantly, that doesn't mean it's not any less worth it...They taught me that life isn't easy either, but to make sure that I appreciate the important stuff and to always, ALWAYS make time for the stuff that matters most... They taught me that unconditional love doesn't mean unconditional happiness, but that even when you don't agree with someone's choices, you stand by them and love them (and hope like hell it passes) :)They taught me that happiness isn't about money... yes, money makes life easier, less stressful, perhaps, but love, family, and good friends mean more than anything in the world...They taught me to appreciate the little things... and to not take them for granted...They instilled in me a love of learning, growing, and reaching for the stars, no matter how impossible it seemed... They gave me confidence, even when I had failed... supported me through everything... They still do... They've always been there no matter what... I never had to be afraid to tell them when I screwed up, although seeing disappointment in their eyes is the hardest thing in the world for me...I think, though, one of the best things they've done is that they were ALWAYS honest with me- to a fault... even when they know what they said could hurt me- they always give it to me straight and I respect that... I grew up knowing about 'real life' and what drugs, anger, hostility, and drama do to people...They taught me to respect people and their opinions and to judge one person at a time... that color, gender, race, religion, sexuality, or whatever alone can't make someone good or bad... that you can't live your life judging people by that- you have to give each person a chance... there are good and bad people in every demographic and if you exclude people based on generalizations, you'll never know what you could be missing! They taught me, too, that respecting someone's views doesn't mean agreeing with them, and that people deserve to be heard... regardless of the message...I could go on for days, but I think I've bored you all enough... Just know that I have some of the coolest parents in the world... I love them so much... and I'm thankful everyday that I have them in my life!
