All arrangements the group performs are written by the members themselves, who give each song a new identity and surprise the audience with never heard versions of well known songs. Although the group mainly focuses on jazz, tonalrausch does not deny its roots in the music the members have grown up with. They choose songs they are connected with from different musical styles like Pop, R'n'B and Rock music and sing them in their own manner.
As a soprano, Alexandra Gruber gives the group the light and open sound easily connecting with the warm and soulful alto of Diana Labrenz. The middle parts are filled by Gabriel Fuhrmann, a clear and brilliant tenor, and Matthias Knoche, a very flexible baritone. The group's unique sound is completed by the low and groovy bass of Daniel Barke. Together they reach out for the heart of the listener, entertaining with their natural humor and lightness on stage.
tonalrausch's mixture of humour and class has been awarded the golden diploma of the International A Cappella Competition 2008 in Graz (Austria) in the Pop category and the first prize in the Jazz competition.
In 2009, tonalrausch published its first album which represents a broad variety of a cappella music and the diversity of moods tonalrausch stands for.
