Dusan Cernak

1987 - born on 29th october in Brezno, Slovakia. 1988 - celebrating 1st birthday, walking, starting to talk. 1994 - Attended an elementary music school in Polomka and started to take piano lessons. 1995 - Receiving a beautifull amati drumset from parents on christmas. Self-taught from the beginning. 1996 - 97 - 98 - Occasionally performing with brothers grunge rock band called Evidence as a kid curiosity in pubs around Brezno. 1998 - Attending an 8th years grammar school in Tisovec, losing regular contact with drumset. 1999 - Played my first full concert with Evidence on Slovak alternative summer 99 festival. 2000 - Played my 2nd full concert with same band on same stage. 2000 - 01 - 02 - Turned into experimental electronic music. Unleaded attempts in piano composition and improvisation. Finnished elementary music school in Polomka.2003 - Definitelly decided for music. Leaving grammar school and attending a classical conservatory in Bratislava studying classical percussion.2004 - Kids dream came true - formed experimental electronic band with live drums.2005 - Band performed first time under name Eduardo Borsuci in Optima Forma. First festival appearances (slovak alternative summer and NuJazz dayz - played before Vinx.) Won prize for performance at the new faces of Slovak jazz even with non competing band.2006 - leaving conservatory in Bratislava and attending private conservatory in Topolcany with individual studying plan. Live performance with Eduardo Borsuci in Optima Forma in national Tv. Performing afther The Cinematic Orchestra at Nujazzdayz festival. Other major festival appearances (Pohoda, Topvar rock fest...)2007 - Graduated conservatory in Topolcany. Many major and minor festival appearances with Eduardo Borsuci. Releasing first electronic solo EP on netlabel www.hippocamp.net Growing intereset in jazz music leading into attending a Jazz College in Prague. Started to work under my first real drumteacher Martin Sulc.2008 - Last performance of Eduardo Borsuci - broadcasted live on radio. Suffered long therm hand injury which paralised myself. Than started with my first regular jazzband - Jiri Kalous trio. Teaching kids at the special workshop Stanica vychod - www.stanicavychod.sk - Joined band Rhantisi Franklin.2009 - Performing with Jiri Kalous trio and guests, Rhantisi Franklin and some randoms. Attended a summer jazz workshop in Prague, studying under Felix Schlarmann. Teaching at Stanica vychod again this year. Won junior jazz competition in Prague with jazz fusion band Quattro Formaggi.
