Who is Takimi?....Takimi is a producer who likes to fantasize and picture images of surroundings and places. With his productions he creates certain melancholic atmospheres where he tries to take himself to a place he imagines.....
There are many influences from all over the world. He uses samples from greek, turkish, gypsy, middle eastern and north african records plus many more.....This you can hear back in his productions in which he combines ancient/traditional instruments and elements of music with contemporary ones. Further, there are cultural, social and political events that influences him in everyday life.Currently he is busy making different tracks for the dance floor and living room..on of his goals is to bring out some releases and to finish his first album. It will mainly be a instrumental album with some possible features of mcs and other musicians. Hopefully the album will be ready by the end of 2008.Takimi is currently based in Amsterdam, where he has started off as a dj at Radio Rietveld (online radiostation of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy). He quit after being there more than a year. Now he has been dj-ing under several aliases at different locations such as the melkweg, bimhuis, ot 301, some exhibitions and street parties. Next to producing music and dj-ing he also organizes cultural/music events.
