Ampersand

About Me

Ampersand started way before but the current Ampersand have been together since October 2007. Since shedding some heavy weight Ampersand have concentrated on becoming what they set out to be............ A FUCKING GREAT BAND!The aim is simple, to write good music with a good tune to go with it. Ampersand enjoy playing live. Bringing life and energy to their music is essential to what Ampersand is about. Fusing their love for the 'Big Rock Sound' with great melodies Ampersand create a sound of power and grace with ease.“Roaring into life the band opened with ‘Taking Over,’ creating a wall of sound that filled the room to bursting point. A good rock song with strong vocals and great 3 part harmonies from the lead vocalist, drummer and bassist it was a sign of things to come.” Livemusic.co.uk“Ampersand are [literally] a big band built for a bigger stage. A potent mix of Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath they blend seismic riffs to perfect melodic choruses and screaming guitar solos. Tonight’s gig is a master-class in how to do stadium sized rock in a club sized venue. Singer Paul Shields cannonballs around the stage, often straight through the permanently head-banging and brilliantly named guitarist Topher Diamond. Songs like “Believe” “Damn Time” and definite future anthem “Devil and I” were made to be played on a massive stage with so much pyro that there’s barely a second passes when something isn’t on fire. Definitely one to watch in 2008 this five-piece exude confidence, talent and most importantly, the songs to go very far indeed. By Night Magazine 2007 ..
