Born in Texas...Live in Texas...Die in Texas...... Do not forgive me for being myself...I am exactly who I was always meant to be...CARPE DIEM...... Big Earl is now the lead singer for...MODOC... the premier Southern Rock band in Texas...... look for us at www.modoc-rocks.com ...... ............................................................ .......................................................... My musical influences start with my grandmother teaching me to sing in Sunday School at age 3...one uncle playing the drums in a family band with two of his cousins while they were in highschool...(I bought those drums at age 11 and started learning to play)...and a cousin of my mother...guitar player,singer,songwriter, already in the music business at 17...with these three close influences I have always loved music...when Jim Croce released his first album me and a school buddy got a couple of used acoustic guitars and learned a little...(for me,very little)but that evolved into a few different garage bands,with me as drummer/singer...moved to the Tomball/Magnolia area in 1983 and was a sit/in guest of some local bands from time to time...Matt Free&Free and Easy...J.C.&3rd.Degree...Hott Lixx...then I joined...151Proof...then Sydney Polk Project...Gomez/Musgrove Project...after which I started my own band...Big Earl and the Texas Heat...(and picked up the harmonica)...our first gig was in March of '06...we are still together...we have taken a hiatus however...a couple months ago I accepted an offer to become the singer for MODOC...graduated highschool with "Zip"(bassman) who founded the band...WAY COOL to be in a band with a classmate from back in the day...check the MODOC site for our schedule...CARPE DIEM
