Downtown Junkies (Looking for a Drummer!)

About Me

DRUMMERS WE NEED YOU!!!
First, thanks for checking us out!
Check out our tracks. They are off our new demo.
Check the video too, to get a better idea of us.
We are all in our twenties, expect you to be around the same...ish.
We're looking to take this as far as we can go, and aren't going to slack to get wherever that may be.
Do you have what it takes to play with us?
We're not booking gigs right now, because we don't have a drummer. We are ready to play and have experience. Just want to make sure we have the missing piece before we surge forward.
I look forward to hearing from you.

THE STORY:
Downtown Junkies are a Junk Rock/Dumpster Metal hybrid (A unique blend of Punk Rock and Metal) that hail from New York City. They have a sound that is both hard and heavy, yet infectious. Their sound is raw, with hints of pop. Their live shows are the type to turn heads and bring curious people in from the street with their high energy and charming demeanor Downtown Junkies are as exciting to watch as they are to listen to. Downtown Junkies are doing what they feel they were born to do: break down walls, barriers, stereotypes and hearts. As of this writing, they are the only band in the world with a “The ‘Metal’ Chair”.
Roach-Man, is the lead vocalist and lyricist. With a dry humor and raw vocals, he brings women to their knees and real showmanship to the band. His admiration of Elvis, Green Day and Motley Crue come across very strongly in his singing style and lyrics.
Xino (pronounced Chee-No), is the lead guitarist and main songwriter. Soon to be the next great guitar legend, he puts in long hours of anal retentiveness to the songs. He loves Dream Theater, Metallica, and Pink Floyd. He and Roach-Man’s writing make up most of what is the Junk Rock sound. Oh yeah, did I mention he is latin?
Mike “Action” Jackson, plays bass, does backing vocals and sweats...a lot. He could be Utica’s best kept secret. With a degree in music education and keen ear, he can pick up any song almost instantly. And a sight he is to see, the guy doesn’t stop moving on stage! Whenever the opportunity knocks, he makes the rest of the band listen to Alice in Chains, Tom Waits and King Crimson.
When these three heads collided: Junk Rock was officially born. Downtown Junkies are what the music world has been waiting for. A new addiction that is both healthy and fulfilling. A reason to get out of the apartment, get out from in front of your computer or television, and go see what its like to live again. The themes of their songs are of: life's daily hardships, liberty and freedom, and to pledge nothing to anyone but yourself. Something that people of all ages, sexes and races can relate to.
These are your new heroes, saviors, idols. These are Downtown Junkies. Get ready for your first dose.
