About Me

..

Biography:
Vivi Grøn has grown up in the sea port Hirtshals which is located in the wild nature by the North Sea in the north of Jutland. She started as a singer and composer at the age of 13 in various bands. After high school she completed a music teacher education at Nordjysk Musikkonservatorium, where she also began as a jazz singer in her own bands.
When the Rhytmic Music Conservatory was established in Copenhagen, she took a degree as a singer and a teatcher in 1991.
She has gained a lot of inspiration from e.g. Butch Lacy, Birgitte Frieboe, Richard Boone, Cæcilie Norby, Thomas Franck plus a lot of her fellow students that she used to play with, e.g. Carsten Dahl, Niels Præstholm, Tineke Nordhoek, Marie Louise Schmidt, Helle Marstrand and Benita Haastrup.
She has mostly worked as a choir - and singing master, composer and organizer with the publication of two children’s song books and several choir movements/compositions for youth choirs within the genres of pop, jazz/latin, folk music and musicals.
She has been engaged as teacher at " Rythmical Music School for Children and Teenagers" in Copenhagen since 1997. www.rytmiskborneskole.dk

Sounds Like: The singer and composer Vivi Grøn presents a new and exciting repertoire
within the genre of lyrical vocal jazz.
She invites the audience into an intense and concentrated atmosphere,
where originality and unpredictability meets the listener.
With her own poetic lyrics, the music evolves around every nook and cranny of the love life. It's a journey througth the elements and the 4 seasons.
It is a great pleasure to be able to invite the audience
to a musical experience that is inspiring.
Enjoy!
”A remarkable common denominator of her last album "Your Time has Come"
is that her music has an almost dreamy and a very
intense lyrical originality that keeps being fueled by a grand
inventiveness and a wonderful inpredictability.
It is liberating to listen to numbers where both the rhythmical
and the melodious take new and unexpected turns.
This music deserves a great audience!”
