I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
I'm a fifth-year graduate student in the Social Psychology doctoral program at NYU and an aspiring fiction writer. I like warm weather and most associated activities, and I love New York City, where I've lived my entire life. I'm a Libra, and good at being one. I was born in the year of the dog, and that fits me pretty well too. I like to teach, and have taught an undergraduate class at NYU -- fun stuff. I am a firm believer in friendships only being worth it when they're all the way, meaning that you care about each other and take care of each other and tell each other things, and I luckily have a group of friends who seem to agree. I like losing myself in music, be it at a concert, at a club, or while pacing back and forth in my living room. I like making up stories in my head, whether I intend to ever write them down or not. I live my life on the edge between reason, both in my ideals and beliefs and my scientific career, and... not the unreasonable precisely, but a world based around inspiration and creativity, whether based in reality or not.
The main thing is that I've always been the kind of person who wanted things to be passionate about, things to aspire to, and I've had dreams and pursued them, but they were never quite right in the end. But this time, I think this is it. And pursuing that dream is gratifying unlike anything I've known before, and I think it will be gratifying no matter what level of success I achieve. And having that dream has made me a happier person, and maybe a better person too. If you ever find a dream like that, don't let it go.
You Should Have Been Born Under:
You are totally loyal, faithful, and honest.
However, you don't trust others to be as ethical as you are!
Straight forward and direct, you really aren't one for small talk.
You are a great listener - and an agreeable companion when you're in a good mood!
You are most compatible with a Tiger or Horse. What Year Should You Have Been Born Under?
Your Brain is Purple
Of all the brain types, yours is the most idealistic.
You tend to think wild, amazing thoughts. Your dreams and fantasies are intense.
Your thoughts are creative, inventive, and without boundaries.
You tend to spend a lot of time thinking of fictional people and places - or a very different life for yourself. What Color Is Your Brain?

My delayed reaction

I thought it was that I was just good at coping with stuff, blocking stuff out.  Or maybe it was the 11-0 win by the Yankees that staved off my anger.  But this morning I woke up with a very sore thro...

Lyrics I felt like posting

In making a short list of specific songs I'd like to hear at my wedding, I realized that I have a soft spot for The Four Tops. So I felt like posting the lyrics to the song I'm now listening to more ...

When bad things converge

It's just one of those days when fifty things come together at once.  Got an e-mail from another potential internship saying that they, like everyone else, have nothing for me.  This is the worst time...

Tired but happy

Sleep last night was hard. Eric and I went to bed around 2:30. And while he was definitely asleep shortly after, I laid there until 3:30ish. I didn't really mind. Most of the time I get agitated w...

One giant step

I don't think there are enough words, so I won't put any. I don't know how many pens he used to sign the thing, but he can have them all.
