Rich and clear, his voice is capable of both gentle sweetness and aggressive energy. "Pidiendo Amor" is an outstanding showcase for Leo's talent. Leo wrote several of the songs on this album. His enunciation of the Spanish lyrics is outstanding. Leo is one of those singers who really knows how to bring out the beauty of the Spanish language. The hot, percussion-rich Latin rhythms of the accompanying musicians blend perfectly with Leo's voice. The Latin world has seen a real explosion of male vocal talent in the last several years, and I rank Leo Vanelli up there with the best of them.
