Baltimore Do/Gooders and Friends of the Baltimore Hostel are meeting July 22nd 2009 at 7pm at the Baltimore Hostel 17 W. Mulberry St. Baltimore, MD 21209
This site is founded by a volunteer with the Friends of the Baltimore Hostel, who now wants to assist in making Baltimore a safer and more dynamic place to visit by expanding this group to include all of Baltimore's Do-Gooders.
Baltimore Do-Gooders are individuals who care about Baltimore and will do what they can to make a positive difference in Baltimore. If that means raising their children the best they can, going to one fundraiser a year, donating used clothes or a can of food to a shelter, or volunteering ALL are welcome to join the Facebook Group: "Baltimore Do-Gooders" and consider themselves a do-gooder.
The purpose of this concept being online is to encourage that there are still good people that care about our city, but also to network. In terms of networking, I want discussion boards with people’s inputs, a sharing of ideas, people trying something outside their norm to see what else is out there in terms of volunteering or going to a fundraiser.
OVERVIEW of FRIENDS OF THE BALTIMORE HOSTELHostelling International Baltimore provides accommodation for travelers from around the world and other cultural activities for visitors and Austin residents. Their mission is "to help all, especially the young, gain a greater understanding of the world and its people through hostelling." Imagine a world where intercultural dialogue and responsible travel are part of every individual's experience. Hostelling International Baltimore’s programs strive to build a new generation of global citizens, unburdened by stereotypes, emboldened by open minds, appreciative of their own heritage and understanding of others, through dialogue and education. Prior to collaborating on the diverse Baltimore outreaches, a brief description of the current volunteer opportunities for Hostelling International will be discussed including ODOM points, Cultural Kitchen, and world travel classes, and travel clubs.
The top friends have all volunteered at the Baltimore Hostel!!!
Our mission is "to help all, especially the young, gain a greater understanding of the world and its people through hostelling." (hiusa.org)
