What can I say? Lost my dad when I was 10 which put my life in a whirlwind & made me learn some important lessons in life at a young age. After that, I was your typical "wild child"- tried EVERYTHING under the sun at least once. By the time I was 17, I was at my all time low (while still putting a smile on my face & convincing the world & myself that everything was "all good"). Thank God for a mom's instinct that knew something wasn't right & she never gave up on me. She found her way to church (to fill the void in her heart from losing her husband & to bring her & her kids back together); her life was changed & she invited me to taste the goodness of a relationship w/ God. Little by little the Holy Spirit revealed a love & forgiveness to me greater than I knew I deserved & it's amazing to me how many times in a single day I give attention & glory to everything else in my life but the One that has had His hand upon me since He created me in my mama's womb. He is so faithful to let me know He's right there when I call & yet, I neglect to call His name all too often but I know He's worthy of my all....selfish human nature gets in the way daily but I know His love is unconditional...it's a good thing! So here I am, thankful to my Maker, who has replaced my heart of stone w/ a heart of compassion, trying to make it through the night to a brighter day. Wish more people gave a damn about something of substance. I'm guilty of being careless w/ my time, relationships, resources & potential but there are a lot of things I care about; just a matter of staying focused to make a difference, even if it's just in one person's life but I know we all hold the power to do so much more than we give ourselves credit for. So in the midst of trying to be a 'rockstar', I try to learm from my mistakes & the mistakes of others (don't gotta be hit by a car to know it will hurt right? Don't know why we insist on "learning for ourselves" when we can learn from each other).
