Lucie Sykes

Lucie Sykes is a singer songwriter from the south of England. Lucie was born in 1986 into a musical family and started writing songs at the age of 10. At 15 Lucie formed an all girl grunge band and started recording demos at home. Lucie left school in 2003 and featured on a track with the Portsmouth Hiphop collective The Weaponz Inspectaz. 2004 Lucie recorded a demo EP of her own songs at Cutoff productions, Fratton. Lucie's song 'Risk' was selected to be on 'the best unsigned bands ever...' album. With this encouragement Lucie formed a backing band from the session players used for her demo. 2005 Lucie and the Cubez were formed. After 6 months of rehearsing Lucie and the Cubez played a few gigs around the local scene, some more worth while than others. 2006, Lucie's guitarist, P 4Far had his first child, her bassist, T Ellis concentrated on his other band and drummer Rapid keith was busy producing for other artists....Lucie and the Cubez fizzled out. Whilst the Cubez were canceling band practice Lucie had been writing songs. At the end of 2006 Lucie recorded a new demo produced by Rapid keith..........
