Biography - Strong Deformity
Strong Deformity have been together since 1995. Their sound can best be described as a blend of agressive and proggessive metal. In their first year together the band released the debut album The Power Of Pain. There are two versions of this album one in Hungarian and the other in English. The album was a resounding success and led the band to embark on an extensive tour of Hungary & Austria including all the major summer festivals. Due to the success of the first release and a sell out tour they were rewarded by the readers and editors of Metal Hammer magazine who voted the band: Best Drummer of the Year, Most Hopefull Band of the Year & Best Cd Art Work.
In 1998 the lead singer was replaced, Károly Fekete ’Hair’ stepped up to fill the spot. His voice was perfectly suited to Strong Deformity’s sound so the band headed back to the studio to craft their second album Racket. Racket was released with English lyrics in 1999 on Core & More Records (A) in 19 European countries. Super Dope, one of the singles from the album Racket made it to 18th place in a chart by an American Underground Magazine. This track was also used by this magazine as a cd suppliment. The album recieved glowing reviews from the German version of Metal Hammer...
In 2001 Strong Deformity released a two track promotional sampler featuring Genie in my mind & The Rope Walker to give fans a taste of the forthcoming album. These two tracks caught the attention of Zsolt Prieger & Gergo Nemeth (two prominent Hungarian producers and the Brains behind Anima Sound System) wanted to be involved in producing the new album. Collectively they worked on four tracks, when these tracks were finished an A&R from Warner Music Hungary heard them and shortly afterwards a record contract was signed with Warner Music.
In 2002 the band went to the best studio in the country (Aquarium Studios) to make the album Magic Syrup. This was followed by the shooting of a video for the single Imaginary Adventures. The video was directed by Istvan Olah, the director of many high quality Hungarian music videos. The video was in the Viva Tv charts for seven weeks and reached second place among artists such as the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. When English music television showed the video the track and album recieved rave reviews that can still be read on the net. The band is tipped for international success.
