Eric Torres' deejay career began at the age of 16 in the Coney Island Projects of O'dwyer Gardens in Brooklyn, NY where he discovered a natural fit behind the turntables at teenage house parties. Inspired by Glenn Fricia and DJ Skribble, Eric would set his tape-deck to record their legendary sets on Hot97 and listen to the tracks repeatedly to better understand and emulate their skills. He also looked to the Chicago house music scene and the likes of Bad Boy Bill to learn the art of scratching. As Eric's ear for sound and fingers for spinning began to fuse, he decided to take his beloved hobby and turn it into a career. At 19, DJ Toro was born when Eric's crowd-motivating sets captured the attention of a New Jersey premiere nightlife destination, Hunka Bunka, after his friend Dj Mike Gee's mobile business took off he was brought in as the youngest resident to ever step into their booth. Toro's residency at Hunka Bunka laid the cornerstone for his career as it landed him a three-year residency at the world-famous D'Jais in Belmar, NJ where club-goers across the tri-state fell in love with this self-proclaimed "Puerto Rican-Whiteboy". His diverse style of mixing genres of house, rock and hip-hop including customized production left nightlife venues craving more. Premiere NY/NJ deejay crew, the DJ Kings, recognized this and quickly brought Toro on board to join Konvict Music's DJ Mad and Davis S, producers of club-banger "Put Your Drinks Up", radio-superstar DJ Alex Sensation, and the late Carl Blaze of Power 105. The DJ King's are pursuing the development of an online radio station to pump their hits out across the world-wide-web.Currently, Toro is rocking the dance floors with residencies at Northern New Jersey's hotspots 118 Lounge and Bliss and continues to make a presence on the other side of the tunnel with guest spots at Sol, Myst, GuestHouse, Prime and the Grand in New York. Toro's growth as a turntable mixmaster and consistent following of fanfare has most recently landed him residencies at the legendary Pacha nightclub.DJ Toro has undoubtedly made his mark on the NY/NJ nightlife scene, and is ready to expand on his experience around the country to rival the most respected in the industry. Toro is ready to diversify his portfolio and take his career to the next level as he is currently exploring opportunities to obtain a radio show, go on tour with the likes of hit artists Jay-Z and Kanye West, and fulfill his desire to become a successful producer. The sky is the limit for this tri-state-bred talent, as he truly understands the art of making party music and catering to those who come out to dance to his sets. Toro's ability to move a crowd of 50 and knock-out a crowd of 1000 keeps him coming back to the turntables ready to mash-up the next great set because he never grows tired of letting people know that "all you have to say is 'Brooklyn's in the house' and watch what happens." His do-whatever-it-takes-upbringing coupled with his passion to be the leader of a new era of deejay will most certainly make Toro a household brand for years to come.www.deejaykings.com
