I first started my journey in hip hop with a
Group called the family of felons (F.O.F). The first person
that taught me how to format a song was a brother by the name
of Artist, (Grim Reaper). He’s also the first person to ever take
Me to a studio. He was making major moves and it was a tragedy when he was brutally shot to death in the streets of South Phoenix. Right before he died he was in negotiations with Doctor Dre. This was right around the time when Snoop Dog dropped Deep Cover.
I’ve worked with pretty much everybody, from az, that had The potential of achieving national success. Those camps Include the Boondocks, Mayhem, and Fo Life Records. Me and Bookie were all over Vontell’s album. We had a single that was the shit on the radio called “Fo my Homies†which
Featured the late, great Roger Troutman. We recorded that song
Right before Roger passed away. Unfortunately when the single dropped I was unable to achieve my portion of shine due to incarceration.
We also received national recognition with a song called "Bounce". The very first hip hop song out of AZ to hit the Billboard top ten. When I first heard the track for Bounce. I didn't know what to do with it. I took it home and marinated on it for a several hours and came back with the perfect chorus. It was crazy. We had everyone from fifty year old ladies to seven year old kids singing that song. That should have been the beginning of a perfect story but instead it was a valuable learning experience for us all [Fo life Records].
I adopted the name AZ RON from a fictional character in the Notorious B. I. G's song "Niggas Bleed Just Like US". In the song he said It's on I called my nigga Arizona Ron from Tucson who Pushed that black Yukon. Well lets just say that me and AZ Ron had allot in common [laughs].
I'm no new booty to the game of hip hop but yet I'm still a student. I was chopping it up Allstar Weekend with E-40 and he laced me with some real game. He said that his success, over all these years, was due to his sponge like mentality. He said "if you pay attention you can learn from a baby" and based on that same philosophy I've been able to reinvent myself time and time again. Welcome to the new world, My world.
