ECCO WAS STRONGLY INFLUENCED BY THE DUB SOUND GROWING UP. HIS FIRST ATTEMPTS AT BECOMING A VOCAL ARTIST MIMICKED THE REVERB FOUND IN DUB MUSIC, HENCE THE NAME ECCO. HE ADMIRED THE INSTRUMENTATION AND PASSION OF ARTISTS SUCH AS EDDY GRANT, BOB MARLEY, THIRD WORLD, TRIBE CALLED QUEST, JAY DILLA, RONI SIZE, & MUTABARUKA.AS AN ARTIST OF MANY TALENTS, ECCO’S FIRST STEP INTO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY WAS THROUGH DANCE. HE ENJOYED AFRICAN DANCE, CAPOIERA, SALSA, MODERN, & STREET DANCE. SINCE 1990, ECCO WORKED AS A DANCER, CHOREOGRAPHER, AND STAGE MANAGER IN MANY MUSIC VIDEOS & PROJECTS. HE WORKED WITH VARIOUS DANCE AND REGGAE MUSIC ARTISTS. THESE ARTISTS INCLUDED WHITNEY HOUSTON, TAYLOR DANE, RED FOX, JAMALSKI, AND BARBARA TUCKER. CREATIVELY, ECCO’S VISION EXPANDED AND IN 1997 HE BECAME A VOCAL ARTIST. THEN IN 1998 HE STARTED MUSIC PRODUCTION. NOW ONE OF HIS FUTURE GOALS IS TO PRODUCE A FILM ON MODERN HOUSE MUSIC.

ECCO’S SOUND IS A CULMINATION OF HIS ROOTS & CULTURE. IT IS A SOULFUL REGGAE-BASED SOUND WITH HINTS OF OTHER DIVERSE MUSICAL GENRES SUCH AS ELECTRONICA, HOUSE, & DRUM ‘N BASS. ECCO SEEKS A GREATER UNDERSTANDING OF GOD AND HEALING POWER THROUGH HIS MUSIC. WITH HIS UPCOMING ALBUM, COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS, & PERFORMANCES AROUND THE WORLD, ECCO BRINGS POSITIVE CHANGE AND DIVERSITY TO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY.
