Texas Heart Shot

About Me

Texas Heart Shot is currently my only musical outlet, which takes influence from just about every different style of music I've ever enjoyed listening to, using any instrument I can lay my hands on and make some kind of noise with.
History
This project was born from necessity some time in 2004, as I had just finished college, and parted with my previous band, so I found myself having to write and record songs alone. Writing this way caused me to investigate the use of samples and synthesizers in my music, opening up a whole new dimension of song writing to me, and now I can't imagine writing any other way.
The first of these songs to be completed was 'Broken Throne', people seemed to enjoy the demo I'd recorded so I decided to host it on a myspace profile. At this point I chose the name 'Citadel' for the project, and started writing more songs with ultimate goal of releasing a CD and eventually putting a live act together and performing.
Three years on, after re-writing and re-recording each song countless times, the CD is finally finished and available to buy. I was never entirely happy with the name citadel, and a lot of other bands already had the name, so the name was changed to 'Texas Heart Shot' at the same time the CD released.
