Founded in Orlando, Florida in 2003, Back Yard Funk consists of highly trained individuals. Our group comprises of members who are talented in all areas of the hip-hop culture, like breakdancing, graffiti, disc jocking, and beat boxing. Our group started with two original members as a duo, and later decided to expand to eleven members. Some of our members have had the opportunity to perform in many parts of the world, including parts of Europe to the world famous Sydney Opera House in Australia. Some of the shows that we have performed in are the 2005 Super Bowl halftime show, Orlando Magic halftime show for the 2006 season, a show for the community called "A Fighting Chance" starring Joe Manno, a famous author, and the 2006 “Mr. and Miss Universe Pageant.†Some of the many competitions that we have won within the last year are “Just for Laughs†in Canada, “Pro-Am†in Miami, “Soul Cypher†in Gainesville, and “Seven Deadly Cities†in Virginia. Presently, we have members that are currently employed in the entertainment industry for Cirque USA and Carnival Cruise Lines. However, we are also available to the public for private or public events.
