Enjoy!Saturday Night Special started as a 3 piece jam session in October 2006 with Fraser on Bass, Rocko on the drums and Leigh on the guitar. Almost immediately there was an evident understanding of direction and a realisation of the need for an additional member to help spread the cost of the rehearsal room…Oh, and provide a thicker sound. With the addition of Phil on guitar the following January the band had become Saturday Night Special, a powerful 4 piece alternative rock band with a good mind for powerful lyrics and infectious tunes.With the four influences combined, the band began to develop a unique style, using light-hearted tunes with a big rock sound to touch on taboo subjects and difficult situations in an accessible way. They combine this with a serious sound which conveys real issues and carries a strong message that gives the listener something to think about.In a short space of time Saturday Night Special built a strong fan base in the local area, currently experiencing high demand on the regional gig circuit as well as making the front page of the local press.
