About Me

Pereshaped is a mixture of contemporary classical music, electro-acoustic. Work spans pieces for solo guitar to hand crafted computer sequences such as Flight Sequence, a step-time suite 25 years in the making. Pereshaped is drawn to complex rhythms, textures and extended harmonies found in flamenco, latin and contemporary classical sounds. Strong melodic writing supported by highly developed musical materials create cinematographic sound-worlds. Flight Sequence began in 1983 as an electro-acoustic compostition for imaginary instruments on a cheap 8 bit Yamaha CX5M MSX computer and explores microsonic events and frequency modulated textures. Each pitch, pulse, dynamic and musical gesture were programmed by hand from the score. In essence a hand crafted electronic performance. The particulate FM textures evoke " impossible to play" traditional musical articulations combining modernist and post modernist sequences. Flght Sequence journeys from extended tonal harmonies to total-serialist chaos.Pereshaped's counter ego is a photographer who specializes in near-infrared monochrome photography. They are inspired by the work of Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720-1778).You can see more pereshaped images on Flickr/pereshaped

My Blog

Not a Toy!

This "funny little" instrument had been part of school culture for decades until the event of mass produced electronic keyboards. Sadly and except for a few exponents like Hermeto Pascoal, Joe Zawinul...
