Captains of Industry

About Me

Following the demise of many bands, York was given new hope by the formation of indie superstars-in-waiting Captains of Industry. Their infectious drum beats, razor edged riffs and anthemic choruses give way to some truly great songs. Embrace them all and feel privileged to be discovering a band so promising. So stand and salute your Captain(s of Industry).
Many thanks go to Holly Taymar (Vocals) & Carl Hetherington (Keys) for adding extra depth to the recordings. And also to Andy Partridge (XTC) for polishing off the final mixes.
At the moment, the Captains are writing some new material and hope to have a full album for your aural pleasure in the coming year. In the meantime, keep popping down to gigs to hear glimpses of the new songs as they form.

Review - The Fly May 2008

Mixed by Andy Partridge of XTC this is slick, spacious and funky pop with clean choppy guitar and delightful sleazy vocals. If Barry White joined the Chili Peppers, it might sound something like this.

Review - The Talk August 2008

Mixed and mastered by XTC's Andy Partridge, this group are a kind of funkier hybrid of lost nineties band Strangelove. Jim Flanagans vocals are dark and menacing on "Hard Word" and this really builds ...
