Hi there! My name is Allison Johnson, and first, I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by my website, Ally Cat Studios here on myspace. I am very honored to have your visit.
So that we may become more acquainted, I’d like to share a little about myself, and my passion for what I do.
I grew up in a small city called Salinas. Two years after high school, in 1997 I left to Sacramento to take an adventure in a career I would sooner than later become very addicted to called, Photography.
Capturing people in a moments time; something about that was so driving for me, yet so freeing.
I started taking photo classes in 1997, where I fell passionately in love with photographing people. Once that happened, it was all over for me, I knew I was addicted. There is a certain rush that I get on being able to capture the true person with out even knowing it, someone's true self coming out in a photo that I have taken.
While I was in college I worked as a photofinisher, which means that I printed my own photos along with other peoples. I learned a great deal about exposure and color balancing. Lighting is a major pet peeve of mine, as you get to know me, you will trust that when I give my advise on the right time of day to take your picture, that you can trust that I know what I saying. The sun , clouds, rain and I have been very acquainted. Lighting will make or break you. You can do all you want in editing programs, but boy is it awesome when the natural light is used.
I started photographing in 1998. Since then I have acquired a certain rhythm to getting all those shots you could ever imagine; from artistic yet original portraits to traditional family portraits. I absolutely love photographing people, things, weddings, parties, Artists, Music Festivals, almost anything under the sun; WHY: because it is my passion and true gift, and such a great way of giving service to a couple, a family, an organization; or a business.
I received lots of practice and grew my clientele through Wedding Photography; honestly, Ally Cat Studios is a branch of my business to offer my services to more than just your standard Bride and Groom, because I love photography.
As ladies, we have all dreamt of our weddings at least once before the day arrives. As we get ready for that day our heart flutters with anticipation to the very moment we climb into our DRESS the morning or the day of our BIG DAY. We feel like a princess. I honestly think It’s the one day we feel the most admirable and no self esteem issues can rob us of this day. I know you hear what I am saying ladies. As your photographer I pride myself in capturing shots that not only “Tell YOUR Story”; but those special shots that remind you of just how admirable you really are. My goal is to capture YOU that day, that's right that girlie Princess that’s untouchable. I want those feelings and moments to last forever, and remain with you. What better way can you have them, then in a picture? Pictures last forever, so they better be good, right? RIGHT! I want to capture those shots that make you feel like “The Bride”!! When you look back at your pictures of your big day, both you and your spouse giggle in remembrance just how wonderful the both of you felt and the quality of your shots do just that, they remind you.
This is my goal for EVERY SHOT I TAKE! Rather that be your very first photos of your new born child to a crazy rock show. I want to capture those moments that will remind you of that experience.

Anyone can learn photography, only some of us have the natural eye for artistic composition, the natural talent and gift to getting into the core of a picture and attaching the feeling to the moment.
