Fulya Diner as GertieFulya Diner was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1982. When she recognized her passion for theatre, she soon got involved with a small theatre company where she performed the role of Asiye in a play called “How can we save Asiye.†and “You Made Us Crazy†as Mental Patient.
After high school she found the urge of finding a way to reach world wide audience and decided to learn English and train in theatre to make differences within herself and in society that is international. She moved to England in 2000 to learn English. In 2002 she moved to Los Angeles and was excepted by LACC Theatre Academy. Her first appearance was in the production of “Big Love†as Eleanor, followed by “Where Has Tommy Flowers Gone?â€, as Greta Prince and Prisoner . “Glittering Diamonds†as an ensemble member , in “Loose Ends†as Marayaâ€, “Fuddy Meers†as Gertie, In “Necessary Targets as Zlata,†and various roles in student directed one acts. Her directorial debut was “The Women of Troy“ written by David Grote. In her version, she focused on expressing the voice of all the women of the world from different cultures. That once had been and still in war. There she discovered her passion for directing, and finding connections between ancient stories and modern day. Through theatre, she aims to build bridges between cultures and joining people in peace to make this world a better place.
After her graduation, she took a role of an Assistant Director in the creation of an ensemble piece “Within Us†that was produced in LACC Theatre Academy.
She is currently performing in the production of The Dark side of The Moon at the Next Stage
