I live in New York. I love to travel. I think about music all the time. I play music every day. I don't eat meat. Paul Rutherford is the best trombone player, but he's dead. I don't like computers or movies that much but I always come back for more. Movies are actually pretty good, but only sometimes.
This really isn't important, but I guess you insist on reading.
I like the sensation of being alive quite a bit. I play in lots of bands. I have terrible music writing habits, but good listening and practicing habits. I like having vegetables in my body and if I'm around you can bet that peanuts are somewhere closeby. I do things by myself. I smile a lot. People make me smile.
About the music above: It's probably a good thing if you think my music is funny. The two solo pieces were recorded in concert (sorry they're kinda quiet). "Fables of Faubus" is a Charles Mingus composition, "Synapsid Head" is an improvisation. "Kaskas Warak" is either a folk song or a melody by the Lebanese composer Ziad Rahbani, I'm not sure. This is my arrangement for the band Kabloona (www.myspace.com/kabloona). "Drunk in the Morning" is original music that I wrote to go with the lyrics of a Kid Rock song that I've never heard. It was performed in 2003 by the band MOAB as part of a theater piece co-written by the ensemble, which includes Peter Evans on trumpet, Chris Gross ..o, Steve Wood on bass (he wrote the dialog you hear at the end), and Patrick Barter on drums. That's me beltin' out Kid Rock's woes. Thanks for listening.
