From Bob Marley & John Holt to The Four Tops & Tina Turner. I started my collection of music early and even started dj'ing in the area for friends and the local sports center. I left the UK in 1981 and moved to Brooklyn, New York with my family. I continued to collect and play music all over New York whether it be Reggae, R & B, hip hop, rare groove or soca but I was missing something. I met a group of English guys and start dj'ing at there parties were my music collection changed. I now started collecting lovers rock and wanted to play it here in New York. The more English born people I met, the more I pulled for us to organize our own parties. These groups started and soon after there were so many promoters of UK parties and so came a rush of UK dj's. I met my dj partner, Mr Mitlon from London and we started our dj duo M1 Connection back in the late 80's. He's a collector of revival, old soul, 80's reggae and lovers rock. M1 stands for the highway that connects London to Birmingham and other major cities in the UK. We have been playing continuously till now, all over the US and also started an organization called the Black British Crew. The BBC is busy helping English in America feel at home and to give them a organization to belong to. My dream is to play all over the world, for people that enjoy the music I love.
