Birds. Grammar lately. Cycling. Baseball. Confidence schemes. Muck-raking (investigative) journalism. Drinking beers around a fire.
If I wanted to meet people I wouldn't be in front of this computer.
LOUD
off the top of my head: Rocky, Celebration, Espinoza del Diablo, New Legend of Shaolin, Hero, Breaking Away, Smilla's Sense of Snow (probably b/c I like the book so much), Iron Giant, and most films by Jim Jarmusch, David Mamet, Wes Anderson and some others. Any of the trilogies from my childhood still hold great value, as does the emerging Spider-Man series.
Battlestar Galactica, House M.D., PBS, and that's about it. Meet the Press if I can wake up that early.Unless we're talking baseball -which I watch online- or the month of July when I spend countless hours watching men in high-contrast lycra ride to Paris as fast as they can.
Nonfiction; Don DeLillo (except his latest stuff), Thomas Pynchon, Faulkner, "Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates", "For Whom the Bell Tolls", "Invisible Man", "Catch-22", "Beloved", some Bukowski for good measure, and whatever Oprah tells me to read (ha ha). Check out Douglas Coopers two books if you can find them!
