For those of you who don't know this guy......Please sit back and enjoy "The Late Great Mr. Danny Gatton"
Brian McCosky began his music career in the Open Mic scene of Petoskey, Michigan. As time went on, he became the host of the very open mic of which he first performed. And it was here that his journey began. Years ago, while learning guitar, he noticed that he had a knack for writing original material. Over the years, this talent has blossomed and Brian never looked back. In 2007, his original song “Hobo Blues†was selected as one of the top 15 finalists for the Song of the Year award in the Great Lakes Songwriting contest. There were over 580 entries into the competition. Currently working on his debut album, Brian has spent the better part of 6 years as a live performer. Aside from his solo shows, he has spent time in two successful Michigan bands. Between The Mudbugz (an authentic cajun/zydeco act www.myspace.com/themudbugz) and Pocketwood Mandingo (Multi genre Jamband) Brian has performed solo and with bands at multiple music festivals including Blissfest, Hoxeyville Music festival, Farmfest, and Earthworks’ Harvest Gathering. Not to mention the multitudes of town halls, churches, and brew houses around Michigan. Most recent achievement, includes opening for the Grammy nominated Canadian folk group “The Duhksâ€(www.myspace.com/theduhks). Brian’s live solo show blends unique covers with his talent for original songwriting all the while showing off his musical abilities on guitar, harmonica, bass, and keys. (and with the help of today’s looping technology, sometimes all at once!)
