About Me

My website is: www.sophiesnell.co.uk

Hi! I live in Quarndon, Derbyshire.

I'm a professional storyteller and writer. I perform stories for both children and adults, telling in schools, museums, festivals, and storytelling clubs. I am a regular at Nottingham Storytellers, Flying Donkeys (Derby), and Buxton's Telling Tales and also guest at Cromford Storytelling Cafe.I have three audio book CD's published - The Pirate's Sister, The Dragon's Christmas, and Dragon Tales which sell via my website - www.sophiesnell.co.uk - and Amazon.

My repertoire includes stories about pirates, dragons, ghosts and monsters and various traditional folk tales, - there is such a wonderful variety of stories out there - but I also perform my own stories and poetry. My style is lively and engaging, and as someone remarked at a recent performance - I have a wicked sense of humour. So I like to tell stories with a twist, or a hint of the dark, and have a great collection of silly and fun stories for the younger.

In addition to this I do a little painting, and have had some success selling the occasional painting through my website and at exhibitions. I just love stories, whether written, oral, visual or musical and it is a real pleasure to be able to make a (modest) living from it. Anyway - I would love to meet storytellers, writers, artists, musicians, and any one interested in the arts.

Thank you for reading my profile!
