THE STORY SO FAR...
Many years ago (about 3 and a half), three people of a similar disposition were brought together by the love of music. But, as is always the case with musicians when they reach a certain age, they were all fed up with playing music that they didn't particularly like, or were getting fed up with taking orders from control freaks in their respective bands. Their names were Tommy Bee, Hilary Fox and Andrew Morgan.
Being nice fellows, they all got on together like a mouse on fire. They all had different tastes in music, but enough similarities to appreciate each others taste. Between them, an idea swam of creating a band that embraces all of their different tastes, and combine them into a satisfying whole. The idea was an incredibly appealing one, but hit a stumbling block. Although they had two guitarists and a bassist, the outfit was missing one key piece: a drummer.
This was not to hold them back for long. During a birthday party of Tommys then girlfriend Carly, they were introduced to her cousin, Sam Winterton, a lapsed drummer who had picked that particular day to move back to Leicester from Bridgend, South Wales. Also fed up of taking orders from over-zealous band mates and chomping at the bit to play the drums again, they asked if he would be willing to join. The answer was a sharp yes.
With all the components in place, the band locked themselves away in a rehearsal room for about a year and a half, building up songs. This paid off in their first ever gig, a battle of the bands competition which they won. Having a great confidence boost from that, the band flung themselves into Leicesters music scene, making quite a name for themselves. To date, the band have recorded two EPs (Every Silver Lining Has A Cloud, recorded by Paul Ayriss and Its Easy When You Know Who, recorded by Peri Birtles), are putting the finishing touches to their as yet untitled album, have played with bands like British underground punk mainstays the Uk Subs and a memorable gig with Ed Tudor Pole (of Ten Pole Tudor and Crystal Maze fame) which erupted in violence when the band played Sword of a Thousand Men for him, as well as rocking Glastonbudget festival (which they are returning to this year). Just last year, they came joint third in the Pavilions Battle of the Bands competition, held by Get Your Band On.com. Now , the band is looking to head to the next level by recruiting the talents of Peri Birtles ..board and samples, putting the final seal of awesomness onto Smokin' The Profit.
Fully armed, and more awesome than ever, the band are ready to go, confident 2009 will be their year.
