The Yard Dogs are one of Florida’s hottest bands, performing uplifting and entertaining music which blends Zvdeco, blues, Cajun, folk and rock which they call “Florida Swamp Music†The Yard Dogs unique sound is due to the mixture of 3 eclectic musical instruments and musicians.
Charlie Kuchler on accordion and keyboards is a lifelong musician. He has shared the stage with C.J.Chenier, Buckwheat Zydeco, Jimmy Buffet, U-2, and Cheap Trick.
Kip Lawrence plays a guit-jo, which is a 6 string banjo with incredible percussive qualities. He was part of the Key West Songwriters Fest before founding the SW Florida Songwriters Fest and the SW Florida Folk and Blues Fest.
Brian Travis is a graduate of West Point who ended up playing a home made bass instrument called a Jamaican Rumba Box. Brian also wails on the harmonica.
The Yard Dogs have played many top venues including The Florida Cajun-Zydeco Fest, Rhythm & Blues Fest, Wisconsin State Fair, Skippers Smoke House in Tampa, The Green Parrot and Schooner Wharf Bar in Key West.
They have recorded 6 CD’s in 6 years.
