PROFESSIONAL INFO:
My name is Kyle
Newmaster and I am a composer/arranger living in Los Angeles CA. I have
been composing music for film, television and live ensembles for over ten
years. A year after receiving my masters degree from the Eastman School of
music in 2001 I decided to make the move out here to CA from the frozen tundra
of my hometown near Minneapolis, MN.
Since arriving in Los Angeles I have composed music for a variety of
films including Reservations†(starring Loren Dean and Ray Wise), “3 Belowâ€
(starring Academy Award Winner Ernest Borgnine), “Volare†(starring Federico
Castelluccio of “The Sopranosâ€) and
“Dave Barry’s Guide to Guys (Starring Monty Python’s John Cleese).†As an orchestrator/arranger I have
provided music for productions such as “The Ten Commandments†The World Stunt
Awards,†Craig Murray Productions and Vitamin Records. Recently I have also had a variety of
tracks licensed by Lionsgate Entertainment for upcoming feature film and
trailer productions.
When not scoring films I also enjoy arranging and
orchestrating for live concerts and have had the privilege of providing music
for artists such as Branford Marsalis, Michael Brecker, Joe Zawinul, Charlie
Haden and Bobby Caldwell as well as “The Metropole Orchestra,†“The Columbus
Jazz Orchestra,†“The Eastman Studio Orchestra,†“The Erie Symphony,†“The
Southwest Florida Symphony†and the “The WDR Big Band.â€
PERSONAL INFO:
On a non-professional note, although I can be kind of a
workaholic I enjoy getting away from the computer and checking out all that Los
Angeles has to offer. Golf, tennis, pool, hiking, new restaurants (although I am a
picky eater), live concerts of all types or just grabbing a beer at the local pub
are all things that I enjoy doing. Also, if anyone thinks they have some
moderate skills on the softball diamond (it’s more about the hang) let me know
because I am thinking about starting up a team for the summer.
