About Me

Do the words fade, line up, afro, flat top, part, and taper evoke any emotion in you?
Do the words tradition, craftsman, progression, and respect mean anything to you?
Well, they mean everything to me.

Barbering is not just a job to me.
It is my life, my art, my craft, my blood, my sweat, and my tears.
It is who and what I have choosen to be.
My mind is free. My heart is true. My hands are skilled.
I AM A BARBER!

The barbershops in the black communities of America are so much more than just barbershops. They are a meeting place.
A place you go every week with dad to get cut up. For your whole life.
A place where everybody goes to find out what is going on that saturday night.
A place where you can say what you feel like saying.
A place where you can bullshit with doctors, postmen, thugs, pastors, sport legends, and any other cat who's got they 15 bucks.

It is much more than a barbershop.
It is a cornerstone of the community.

Nuff respect.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

The explosion of hip hop and the fashions of America's urban culture are bring a tide of change to the hair industry. The styles created in America's black barbershops are becoming increasingly popular all over the world. Also with this shift in styles we are undergoing a change of culture in America's barbershops. Now young hip barbershops are starting to weed out the old school military grampa's barbershops. (No disrespect, I started as a marine corps barber and it is a true craft and art form.)Along with the styles of America's black barbershops came the feeling of "This is the spot!" A meeting center that was cool for all ages and classes of people living in it's community. No more being dragged by dad to get a buzz cut from Uncle Buzz at Uncle Buzz's Buzz Barn.
