Music Profile of: Owen A Smith, Owen studied professional Sound Engineering, and Music Technology at Music Works in London from 1992 and majored in those subjects he also studied Bass Guitar, Jazz and Classical Guitar, and also studied Latin Percussion. Owen went on to build a number of London and Brighton based Recording Studio’s. and has been a music Producer and music Programmer from 1994 Owen has worked as a professional session musician working with the Bass guitar Jazz and Latin guitar and Percussion instruments such as The Conga and Bongo's and timbale drums. Owen has also worked in Radio as both a producer and presenter for a number of shows namely “The Lee Doyle Show” a dance music program on Eclipse FM 1996 to 97 and also engineered and produced the Danny J Latin Party South Coast of England on Cable 103.9 from 1996 to 2000. Owen also studied Radio and Television Production and has worked on a number of Music Documentary programs, filming DJ, T.V. and Radio 1 presenter Trevor Nelson when he was still at London’s Kiss F.M. Owen also produced and directed a small number of music Video Promos broadcast on MTV Europe back in the mid to late 90’s. Owens association with music has been life long and he comes from a musical family Owen is the older brother of Terrence Smith the Record Producer known as “T.West” who produced the Extended Remix of Public Enemy’s All time Classic “Fight The Power” for Spike Lee’s 1989 Film “Do The Right Thing” and Ten City’s New York Extended Re Mix “That’s The Way love Is”among many more. Owen has worked with his brother and a number of artists and bands in live performances and studio recording projects, as a session musician, playing live bass guitar and Spanish flamenco Guitar on many types of music from Jazz, R&B, Drum n Bass, Hip Hop, to Ibiza Chill Out and Euphoric music. Passionate about music Owen played Conga drums in a number of Latin Salsa Bands getting his first Gig with Latin Jazz artist Kenny Vincent in 1992 Owen ads a dynamic fusion of a Latin nature and flavor to many different styles of music taking it to another level.
